About the posts
These are both Group-B gazetted entry posts in the state’s accounts and audit cadre. Assistant Controllers are posted to treasuries and departmental accounts wings; Audit Officers audit local bodies, universities and government undertakings under the Karnataka State Audit and Accounts Department. The cadres run parallel and offer promotion to Deputy Controller and Deputy Director grades.
