RRB NTPC Undergraduate 2026 (CEN 07/2026): 1,688 clerk posts for 12th pass, apply from 15 October

The Railway Recruitment Boards followed the graduate notice with undergraduate NTPC CEN 07/2026 a day later. This 12th-pass vacancy has 1,688 tentative posts, and the form will be open from 15 October to 13 November 2026. Together with CEN 06/2026, the cycle has 5,165 NTPC posts.

The four posts

Commercial cum Ticket Clerk leads the list with 700 posts. It is a counter and ticketing role at Pay Level 3 with shift duty at stations. Junior Clerk cum Typist has 600 posts and Accounts Clerk cum Typist 200, both at Level 2 with a typing test after the written stages. Trains Clerk carries 188 posts at Level 2 and involves yard and train-movement record work. Zone-wise vacancy tables and the community-wise split will be in the detailed CEN.

Who is eligible

You need a 12th pass certificate with at least 50 percent marks in aggregate. The 50 percent condition does not apply to SC, ST, ex-servicemen and PwBD candidates, or to those holding a higher qualification. Typist posts require typing at 30 words a minute in English or 25 in Hindi on a computer without editing tools. The short notice sets the age band at 18 to 33 years as on 1 January 2027; the detailed CEN will confirm any relaxation.

The fee follows the RRB pattern: Rs 500 with Rs 400 refunded after you appear in CBT 1, or Rs 250 fully refunded for the concession categories.

How selection runs

CBT 1 is the common first stage of 100 questions in 90 minutes with negative marking of one third per wrong answer. CBT 2 is post-group specific. The two typist posts then go to a skill test; the ticket clerk and trains clerk posts move straight to document verification. The medical standard differs by post, and Trains Clerk requires A-2 vision, the same as the running-line posts. Every stage shortlists a fixed multiple of the vacancies, so a strong CBT 1 score matters even though it is only qualifying for the final list.

Preparing the form

Applications go through the single rrbapply.gov.in portal and only one RRB can be chosen. Use the photograph guidelines exactly; rejections for a wrong photo are common. Since the fee refund is credited to the bank account entered in the form, double-check the account number and IFSC before submitting.
