UPESSC Advertisement 06/2026 has 2,607 Lecturer vacancies, the postgraduate teacher grade in Uttar Pradesh’s aided secondary schools. Applications run from 18 September to 17 October 2026, and the written exam is on 15 and 16 December. Candidates commonly know this recruitment as UP PGT.

Vacancies

Across 26 subjects, the vacancy is split into 2,329 posts for boys’ schools and 278 for girls’ schools. Eligibility

Selection

Selection has two parts. The written examination carries 360 marks and tests the subject at the postgraduate level along with general knowledge and teaching aptitude. An interview for 40 marks follows for candidates shortlisted from the written stage. The final merit list is prepared on the total of 400 marks. Appointments are to specific aided institutions, allotted through counselling by preference and merit.

Pay

The reported scale is Rs 47,600 to 1,51,100, which corresponds to Level 8 of the state matrix, plus allowances. Lecturers in aided schools are paid by the state through the institution and have the same service conditions as government secondary teachers for most purposes.
