IBPS RRB XV 2026: about 13,750 Office Assistant and Officer posts in rural banks, last date extended to 27 September
OpenIBPS has moved the last date for its fifteenth Regional Rural Bank recruitment from 21 September to 27 September 2026, a six-day extension. Released on 31 August, the drive covers Office Assistant and three officer scales across 43 rural banks. Its indicative vacancy count stands a little above 13,700 and changed from 13,757 to 13,745 across successive updates, so treat the total as approximate until the final allotment.
Posts
The clerical vacancy, Office Assistant (Multipurpose), accounts for roughly 8,200 posts. Officer Scale I, the assistant manager grade, has 4,256. Scale II covers 1,047 posts in general banking and specialist streams such as IT, CA, law, treasury, marketing and agriculture. Scale III senior manager posts number 220. You can apply for Office Assistant and for one officer post, but each needs a separate application and fee.
Eligibility
A bachelor’s degree in any discipline is enough for Office Assistant and Scale I. Scale II and III need 50 percent marks plus one to five years of experience depending on the stream. Every post requires proficiency in the local language of the state you apply for, tested after selection, and candidates are posted within that state. Age bands are 18 to 28 for Office Assistant, 18 to 30 for Scale I, 21 to 32 for Scale II and 21 to 40 for Scale III, with category relaxation. The fee is Rs 850, or Rs 175 for SC, ST and PwBD candidates.
Exam calendar
Officer Scale I prelims are on 21 and 22 November 2026 with the mains on 20 December. Office Assistant prelims run on 6, 12 and 13 December with the mains on 30 January 2027. Scale II and III have a single online exam on 20 December, and interviews for all officer posts follow in January and February 2027. Office Assistant has no interview.
Form tips
The form needs a handwritten declaration and a left thumb impression uploaded as images, in addition to the photo and signature. The state you choose fixes your exam centre and your posting, and cannot be changed later. Candidates from the last cycle can reuse their registration only if the login is still valid; most will need a new one.
